Lore of the Forge
Long before the city of Vandrelis gleamed beneath its surface lights, there was only smoke, iron, and willpower. Deep below the cobbled streets, in a forgotten workshop carved from stone, a young tinkerer named Tricky Alistair sought to challenge the old ways. The founders built with rules; Alistair built with questions.
Every gear he forged was more than a part of a machine — it was a promise. Steam became his paint. Metal, his scripture. From salvaged brass and forgotten blueprints, he birthed creations that defied the laws of their age. The whispers of his machines drew the curious and the bold, and the *Forge Collective* was born — artisans, dreamers, and engineers who refused to be cogs in another man’s empire.
As Vandrelis rose into the clouds, the Forge fell deeper underground, yet its heart never cooled. Each ember that left the anvil carried a piece of Alistair’s creed — that invention was rebellion, and every spark of genius deserved to be seen, no matter how dark the world above.
“From soot and spark, the impossible takes shape.”
The Timeline of the Forge
The First Spark — Year 184 A.F.
Tricky Alistair, a gifted street tinkerer of Vandrelis, builds his first steam-driven prosthetic hand. The device ignites the rumors of a “mad inventor” beneath the city, marking the unofficial birth of the Forge.
Rise of the Collective — Year 192 A.F.
Alistair’s creations attract a group of renegade artisans and engineers. Together, they form the Forge Collective — a hidden guild devoted to mechanical liberation and aesthetic invention.
The Ember Riots — Year 203 A.F.
As Vandrelis tightens control on unlicensed innovation, the Forge rebels. The Ember Riots erupt across the lower sectors. Alistair vanishes soon after — rumored to have retreated into the Underforge with his blueprints.
The Modern Age — Present Day
The Forge rises again as Tricky Gearworks Co., honoring Alistair’s lost designs. Each item forged carries his original creed: that creation should be fearless, beautiful, and touched by the chaos of imagination.
“The gears may turn in shadow, but their echo shapes the world above.”
